Following the resounding success of the Classic Car and Bike Parade on 19 January where hundreds of classic car and sports bike owners showed off their vehicles, the stage is now set for the Convertible Car Parade this Friday with competitors giving finishing touches to their vehicles in preparation for the flag-off at 4pm from the Heritage Village in Dubai.

Just as last year, hundreds of convertible car collectors will converge near the Heritage Village and drive down a designated route over a distance of 160 kilometers with the parade culminating at Zabeel Park.

Participants will begin gathering at 2.30 pm and be flagged off from the Heritage Village at 4pm from where they will proceed and turn right near BurJuman Center, go past the immigration junction, drive down Al Wasl Road and go right up to the Police Academy from where they will turn on to Sheikh Zayed Road, proceed towards Al Maktoum Bridge and take the Al Khor Road to pass by Hyatt Regency, turn back to Al Maktoum Bridge, go past Dubai Hospital and end the parade at Zabeel Park.

The parade, organized in conjunction with Dubai Immigration as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, is being overseen by the Emirates Motor Sports Federation.

Participants will be required to follow rules and regulations that have been put in place to ensure that the parade proceeds incident-free. Cars will be issued with sticker numbers that will have to be displayed prominently on participating vehicles.

Drivers will have to ensure that they keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of them and observe a 40km/h speed limit.

A team of marshals have been appointed in order to ensure that participants adhere to the rules and regulations.
