Autocross
An autocross is a skill driving event where one
car at a time negotiates a prescribed course, using traffic cones to
define a variety of turns. Each entrant competes one-at-a-time against
the clock and each car entered is designated by a class within a
preparation category. The Emirates Autocross Championship is usually
run on huge open parking lots in Dubai and each participant is allowed
a maximum of four runs in the well defined track.
Every car is required to undergo a technical
inspection at every event. The 'tech' inspection consists of inspecting
the front end, seat belt installation; throttle linkage, brake fluid
level and brake response, steering assembly, tires, and helmet. The
cars can be categorized in to the Modified, Prepared or Stock classes.
Autocross events are open to anyone who has a valid UAE driver's license.
